Ms. Deborah Louisa Dodoo, former Chief Staff Officer in the Administration Division of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), is contesting her recent dismissal, describing it as unlawful, procedurally flawed, and a violation of her right to due process.
Through her legal representatives at Lincoln Gray Ollennu & Co., Ms. Dodoo has formally petitioned the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Kissi Agyebeng, to withdraw the termination letter dated June 16, 2025, and reinstate her to her former position.
In a letter dated July 9, 2025, her lawyers argue that the dismissal was carried out in breach of Regulation 2(2)(b) of the OSP Regulations (L.I. 2373), which mandates that any officer facing termination must be given a fair hearing before such an action is taken.
“We are under instruction to express our client’s utmost concern regarding the purported termination of her appointment… carried out in violation of her fundamental right to a hearing in accordance with law,” the petition signed by lead counsel G.A. Gyamfi read.
Ms. Dodoo, who was appointed to the position on September 25, 2023, reportedly underwent a rigorous headhunting and vetting process prior to her employment. Her legal team emphasized that on March 14, 2025, the OSP confirmed her appointment, citing satisfactory performance.
“The confirmation of her appointment would not have been possible if she had not passed all the background checks and other verifying procedures required under L.I. 2373,” the statement added.
The legal team therefore insists there is no legitimate basis for her sudden removal, which they say is both unjustified and procedurally improper.
The letter concludes with a firm demand for immediate withdrawal of the termination and reinstatement to her position. Should the OSP fail to act within 14 days, the lawyers have indicated their intention to pursue legal action.
“We humbly demand that you withdraw your letter under reference terminating her appointment and reinstate [her] to her position as Chief Staff Officer, Administration soonest,” the petition warned.
