The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned nationwide maintenance exercise scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2025, that will affect power supply to several communities across the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, and Volta Regions.
According to ECG, the maintenance works are part of efforts to enhance power reliability and improve service delivery to consumers. As a result, temporary power outages will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in selected areas.

Greater Accra Region:
• Odorkor, Awoshie, Gbawe, Asofan, Seven Days
• Manet Estate, Mantey Tsuru, Dodowa, Cantonments
• Ghana International School (GIS), Oshieyie, Kokrobite, Bortianor
• Red Top, Weija Old Barrier, SCC, Ayigbe Town, Tuba Township
• Langba, Sackey, Fulani, GBC Top, Mama Africa, Blackee
• Iron City, Tukuse, and surrounding communities
Ashanti Region:
• Barekese Headworks, Kronum, Cemel, Amoaman, Nketia, Asuofua
• CONSAR Quarry, Adankwame, Adugama, Naachia Quarry, Barekese Town
• Abira, Offinso, Namong, Kayera, Tutuase, Nsuotam, Kyerekrom, Boamang
• Tetrem, Habitat, Ahenkro, Kwamang, Kodie, Akrofrom
• Aduman, Aduamoah, Denase, Pampatia, KCG Company enclave
Volta Region:
• Tokokoe, Tanyigbe, 66 Artillery Training Centre and nearby communities
Central Region:
• Tuba Township, Langba, Mama Africa, Blackee, Iron City, and Tokuse
The ECG has apologized for the inconvenience and urged residents in the affected areas to take the necessary precautions, especially by treating all electrical appliances as live during the period of the outage.
“We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the ECG stated, assuring the public that the maintenance is necessary to prevent future service disruptions and to strengthen the electricity distribution system.
Residents and businesses are advised to plan accordingly and take all safety measures to protect electrical devices and ensure personal safety during the maintenance hours.
