Ghanaian singer Wendy Asiamah Addo, popularly known as Wendy Shay, has strongly denied widespread rumours suggesting she has undergone a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), a cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the buttocks through fat transfer.
“So y’all want to tell me before BBL Africans didn’t have a natural shape like mine? What’s with this BBL tag…” she questioned.
Wendy Shay, who has faced persistent scrutiny and body-shaming since rising to fame, suggested that the renewed focus on her appearance is simply due to her recent weight gain in “the right places.” She urged critics to stop making unfounded assumptions.
“Is it because I have gained at the right places? Y’all should get a life and stop being naive. What you are seeing is 100% natural, and it is not my fault y’all didn’t realize it earlier because of the bullying when I stepped into the game.”
The Rufftown Records signee went on to express her frustration at society’s ever-changing and unrealistic beauty standards.
“I’ve got it since! Clearly, humans will always have something to say — it’s either your booty is too big or too small or too fake. Mind your business! Africa Wake Up!” she added.
Wendy Shay’s response has ignited a wave of reactions online, with fans and fellow entertainers both defending and debating her claims. Some have applauded her confidence and body positivity message, while others continue to question the authenticity of her transformation.
