Gblorkope murderers confess to selling body parts for GHS 7000

Police in the Volta Region have made a chilling discovery at multiple shrines in the Central Tongu Constituency, where the decomposed remains of three individuals, including 28-year-old Nelson Anyinaa, were uncovered.

Nelson Anyinaa was reported missing in December last year, prompting a months-long investigation by authorities. Acting on credible intelligence, the police arrested three suspects who later confessed to the gruesome crime. According to their confession, they killed Nelson and sold his body for GHS 7,000 to three buyers — two of whom have been identified as a fetish priest and a priestess.

A regional homicide team from Ho led the suspects to Mafi Gblorkope, where human bones believed to be Nelson’s were found buried beneath a shrine. In a shocking turn of events, the team also discovered the dismembered remains of two other unidentified individuals buried under separate shrines in the same area.

All the bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition and were exhumed under police supervision.

The Volta Regional Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the case and is working to identify the additional victims. Authorities have assured the public of their commitment to bringing all those involved to justice.

The case has sparked outrage and fear among residents, with many calling for a crackdown on ritual-related crimes and stricter oversight of shrines operating in the region.
